The Basics of Rebar: What You Need to Know

Rebar is a steel bar with ribs on the surface, also called ribbed steel bar, usually with 2 longitudinal ribs and evenly distributed transverse ribs along the length. Among them, rebar is divided into Grade I rebar (round steel), Grade II rebar (HRB235), Grade III rebar (HRB400), and Grade IV rebar (HRB500).

Due to the effect of the ribs, ribbed steel bars have a greater bonding ability with concrete, so they can better withstand the effects of external forces. Rebar is used in civil engineering projects such as houses, bridges, roads, and public facilities such as highways, railways, tunnels, flood control, and dams.
